New Book - Short Walks around Bright and the Upper Ovens Valley - by Mick Ogrizek

This new self-published 167 page book, provides comprehensive information about undertaking 35 short walks (under three hours) in the Ovens Valley in north east Victoria (in Australia).
..
It describes walks in and around the towns of Myrtleford, Porepunkah, Bright, Wandiligong, Germantown, Freeburgh and Harrietville. Walk descriptions include starting and finishing points, distances, surface, difficulty, things to see, how to get to the start of the walk, and detailed route notes.

Many excellent colour photos complement the text. All of the walks were personally checked and researched during 2019 and 2020. The walks are arranged in order of towns.

An excellent resource!

The Hargicourt Orchard in Early Spring!

Pictures of September 13, 2020.

"Hargicourt" is the name of my home here in Mont Albert, built in 1925, in Melbourne's east. In that era, the district was mainly market gardens, orchards, farms, and dairying, Some of the fruit trees shown in the photos are the descendents of those which were planted in the 1920s. There are bushland grottos, a pond, lawns - birds love it, and miners, wattle birds, crows, magpies, parropts and turtle doves have their homes here!
